Strengthening Health Systems for Better Patient Outcomes in Uganda

INsight

Strong health systems are the foundation of quality healthcare delivery. Across Uganda, hospitals and district health teams face challenges related to staffing, infrastructure, data use, and service quality. At RIHSI Uganda, we work closely with health facilities, districts, and partners to strengthen systems that improve patient safety, service delivery, and health outcomes.

Why Health Systems Strengthening Matters

Health systems that function effectively ensure access to essential services, trained personnel, reliable data, and accountable leadership. When systems are weak, patients experience delays, poor-quality care, and preventable complications.

Strengthening health systems helps:

• Improve service efficiency
• Reduce medical errors
• Enhance patient satisfaction
• Increase access to essential
